Generation Shift: The Emerging Federal Workforce

As the Veterans and Baby Boomers are thinking about their graceful exit from the full-time, Federal workforce, every agency seems to be exploring the best ways to pass the torch to the next generation of Federal employees. In the midst of this transition, Generation X and the Millennials are striving to demonstrate their readiness for increasing responsibility and leadership roles. This session provides a forum to ask and answer the following questions:

Who are the generations and what are their unique contributions to the workforce?

What are the organizational dynamics of this shift?

What are the resultant challenges that face the public sector?

How is government addressing the transition?

This workshop is a chance for you to explore with your peers the primary phenomenon that will shape our Federal workforce for the foreseeable future.
