Call for Authors ASPA Series in Public Administration and Public Policy
|
ASPA, your association, now has a great opportunity for you to publish books that will shape the field through new ideas and those that find application among practitioners.
Throughout its history, ASPA has sought to be true to its founding principles of promoting scholarship and professionalism within the public service. This new series on Public Administration and Public Policy publishes books on topics that increase national and international interest for public administration. Books will also address practical matters of interest to practitioners and policy-makers, and offer excellent examples of how our field applies theory and scholarship to the practice of public administration, public policy and governance.
Books in the ASPA Series in Public Administration and Public Policy will discuss practical or cutting edge topics in engaging ways. Books will be relevant, stimulate discussion, and assist practice. We envision several different types of books in this new series, including monographs, books that articulate new thinking or critical analysis, and books that describe practices, applications or cases in the field. In various ways, books will have a clear connection with practice. As such, this new series also represents a stellar opportunity to form closer bonds between academia and practitioners.
We are interested in receiving book proposals that reflect these aims. Topics of interest include, though not limited to
- Practices of leadership
- Collaboration, networking and governance (including multiple sectors)
- Visions of the future of public administration or public policy
- All areas of public management (e.g., emergency management or procurement)
- Performance management and performance measurement
- Accountability, ethics and the management of ethical behavior
- Citizen trust in government
- International affairs in public administration
- New approaches to budgeting or public finance
- Managing people in agencies
We would be pleased to consider your proposal, or those of your colleagues, for a book on any of these or related topics. Interested? Let’s start by sending to me a brief email that describes your idea and, if possible, an initial, proposed Table of Contents.
For more information, please feel free to review the aims and scope of this series. Please let me know if you would like additional information or author guidelines.
I look forward to working with you on new publications in this area.
Yours truly,
Professor Evan M. Berman
