Call for Papers and Proposals
2010 KAPA's International Conference on Public Administration

Responding to recent global financial crisis and economic downturn, every nation in the world came to look back to the basic role of the public sector. As a wave of the public sector reforms, New Public Management paradigm, although the term is complex and complicated, has widely been spread across the public sector over the past decade. From such a point of view, the public sector has been regarded as an inefficient mechanism among market supporters. It turned out, however, that timely and appropriate intervention of government is very often a necessary treatment to solve problems in the market.

The public sector is now pressured to restore economic growth that has been originated from the private sector, while being expected to be more productive and efficient than ever before. The world is now looking back and moving forward to an effective role of the public sector, thereby coping with a variety of issues in our society in an effective, timely manner. This expectation also makes the public sector seriously think about becoming a high performance institution as well as partnering with various entities.

The 2010 conference will bring together academics and practitioners to build more balanced and effective roles between the public and private sectors beyond the philosophy of NPM.

Submissions: All Submitted papers/abstracts will go through three reviewing processes: (1) double-blind (at least three reviewers), (2) non-blind, and (3) participative peer reviews. These three kinds of review will support the selection process of those papers/abstracts that will be accepted for their presentation at the conference. The deadline to submit a proposal/paper abstract is midnight Eastern Time on April 30, 2010. No late submissions will be accepted or reviewed.

All submissions must be made electronically through KAPA's website.
