Each year ASPA awards four $250 grants to enable outstanding students
to attend the Annual Conference. Next year's conference will take place
in Miami, Florida from March 20-24, 2009.
Each ASPA chapter
is eligible to nominate one candidate. In the past, some chapters have been able to
provide matching funds for students to attend the conference. Nominations
must include the following:
- A letter from the
chapter board and/or a faculty member explaining why the student merits
the grant
- A letter from the
student saying why he/she wants to go to the conference and what he/she
hopes to get out of it
- The student's resume
Preference will be
given to nominees who have served in a volunteer role within ASPA, have
performed well in school, and have demonstrated an interest in pursuing
a career in the practice or teaching of public administration.
