New and Future Professionals - Your Public Service Career Starts with ASPA

The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) supports new and future public service professionals by providing networking and career advancement opportunities, offering reduced membership dues and conference registration fees, exposing you to cutting-edge research that cannot be found anywhere else, and giving you useful advice on advancing your career.

Through recently expanded programs and services, ASPA is helping students and new professionals acquire the knowledge, technical skills and resources necessary to be excellent public servants.

Membership in ASPA Helps You:

Get Ahead
Membership in ASPA shows potential employers you are serious about your career. ASPA’s online career center and job board (PublicServiceCareers.org) advances members’ career development and offers useful information about careers in the field. Search for available positions and confidentially post your resume for employers to review.

Get Involved
Local ASPA Chapters provide you with a unique opportunity to get involved in the local public service community and expand your network. Membership in a local Chapter is included with you ASPA membership. ASPA’s Sections give you in-depth exposure to the issues that matter most in public service. ASPA also offers quality programming for new professionals at national and regional conferences.

Stay Connected
ASPA’s monthly newspaper, PA TIMES, focuses on public management issues, highlights best practices and features frequent career advice columns. Our bi-weekly e-newsletter, The Bridge, keeps you informed about the latest opportunities, events and resources in the field.

Access Research
Public Administration Review (PAR), the premier journal in the field, has been bridging theory and practice in public management for more than 60 years. Members have online access to every issue published. ASPA also provides direct access to the latest research and conference proceedings.

One of the greatest benefits of ASPA membership is the resource of great individuals that are all committed to the field of public administration. I can, with confidence, communicate with ASPA members knowing that they will be willing to support and work with you.
-Tony Carrizales, PhD, Assistant Professor, Marist College

I find a great benefit in learning from and networking with other members, especially through the Section on Health, Education and Human Services and the Section on Women in Public Administration.
-Stephanie P. Denning, MPA, Director of Business Development, Government Health Services, Policy Studies Institute
