Detroit Metropolitan Area Chapter Awards Nomination Open

The Detroit Metropolitan Area Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA-Detroit) is launching an outstanding public service awards program this year to recognize the achievements of exemplary public servants working in the Detroit metropolitan area. These awards are cosponsored by the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG), whose mission is to help local governments improve and maintain Southeast Michigan's transportation systems, environmental quality, economic interests, and infrastructure.

In 2017, ASPA and SEMCOG are soliciting nominations in the following three categories:
  • Two awards recognizing established local government professionals in the Detroit metropolitan area (an elected official and an executive official);
  • One award recognizing an early career public service professional (within the first five years of his/her career) who shows promise in contributing to the advancement of public service and good governance ideals in the Detroit metropolitan area
