TN-ASPA Council Call for Nominations
Deadline: May 26, 2017
It is time to submit nominations for openings on the TN-ASPA Executive Council and for officer positions. TN-ASPA is a chapter of the national nonprofit ASPA organization, and this is an opportunity to both help build our chapter and to gain board experience in a leadership role!
The online nomination process is very easy, and you are welcome to nominate yourself or someone else—but we do ask that if you nominate another person, you first confirm his or her willingness to run for the position. Please note that non-members may run for office but they must be willing to join ASPA within thirty days if elected.
Nominations are due by Friday, May 26, 2017. Nominees will be contacted for a short bio statement and, shortly after that date, current TN-ASPA members will receive the ballot email. Votes will be due by Monday, June 5. Terms officially begin on July 1.
Service on Council involves once-monthly meetings (second Mondays at lunchtime) and participation in events, plus some additional responsibilities for officers. It’s not a huge time commitment and it’s a great way to meet people and become involved in our professional community! You can learn more about TN-ASPA at our website. Open positions on the TN-ASPA Executive Council include:
- 5 Council member positions serving a 2 year term
- President-Elect serving a 3 year term with 1 year as President-Elect, 1 year as President, and 1 year as Immediate-Past President
- Treasurer serving a 1 year term
- Secretary serving a 1 year term
- Communications Manager serving a 1 year term
