Public Integrity welcomes original manuscripts from a variety of disciplines that address ethical issues of importance to the public, particularly those that introduce new discourse to the field.  Inclusive of government, NGOs, nonprofits, business, corruption, law, social equity, criminal justice, environment and human rights, the purpose of the journal is to advance knowledge rooted in the social science literature. A foundation of objective and informed inquiry, including speculative philosophy and empirical research, is a criterion.

Submission Guidelines

Submission of a manuscript implies that the work described has not been published before in any form; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that all coauthors have approved its submission for publication, as has any institution, where applicable. No remuneration is provided for publication and the publisher is not legally responsible for any claim for compensation.

Public Integrity only accepts electronic manuscript submissions via Editorial Manager following this link. To submit a manuscript, authors must register under the author tab, then follow the step-by-step manuscript submission instructions. All manuscripts must be submitted in English.

Manuscript Guidelines

Public Integrity follows a double-blind peer review process. All submissions are required to follow these guidelines:
  • Two separate versions of the manuscript shall be submitted. One copy should include a cover page with the author information and the second copy should be scrubbed for review by removing all identifying author information including acknowledgements. There should be absolutely no author names or other identifying information in the body or title page of the reviewer copy of the manuscript.
  • An unstructured abstract of a maximum of 200 words is a required as are 3-5 keywords
  • Tables and figures should be submitted as separate files with their placement noted within the body of the manuscript. Public Integrity does not reproduce color figures.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted in 12 point Times New Roman font in double-spaced with one inch margins in .docx format.
  • Manuscript citation and references must follow the style manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 6th edition) and contain no more than 6,500 words inclusive of tables, figures and references.
