Andrew Young School (AYS) Office of Career Services at Georgia State University and the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA) cordially invite you to participate in our Government and Nonprofit Career Fair, part of ASPA's 2017 Annual Conference.

Cost to Employers: $50 (includes table with two chairs, light snacks and water)

This event is open to all conference attendees (U.S. and international, new and seasoned public affairs professionals) Georgia State University and regional university students. Attendees will be interested in learning about current opportunities (internship and full-time) as well as learning more about best practices conducted by attending agencies.

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.      Employer sign-in open; booth set up
1 p.m. – 4 p.m.         Career Fair (snacks and drinks provided to employers)

Space is limited so register as soon as possible.

Please Note: All registrations subject to approval. In order to meet the needs of both conference attendees and GSU participants, and to provide an even representation of agencies and fields, all registrations will be considered ‘pending approval’ and reviewed prior to confirmation. Confirmations will be sent within three business days of submission.

LinkedIn is the largest free professional networking tool available and has more than 340 million members worldwide, yet most people don’t know how to efficiently utilize the technology! This session will cover LinkedIn profile optimization, tips and tricks for using LinkedIn during the job search, and a detailed demonstration of how to use the advanced search feature to make LinkedIn work for you.

Careers in State and Local Government: Creating Change at the Local Level
Hear about career paths in state, county and township offices from public officials across Georgia. Representatives will talk about their career paths and current roles and responsibilities. Learn the skills, knowledge and experience needed to break into these roles and how rising professionals can make themselves competitive during the job search process. Hear discussion regarding some of the challenges in state and local government and how to successfully navigate through these bureaucratic systems in order to facilitate change.
